What really happened that fateful night with Robert Blake, Bonnie Lee Bakley and Fred the Cockatoo!

Don't miss the event everyone is talking about...the hysterical new comedy by Rick Batalla and Henry Phillips. It's off-color, a little rude, and definitely not politically correct.

Blake...da Musical! was just honored with the LA Ovation Award for Best World Premiere Musical. In addition, it also received Ovation Nominations for Best Actor in a Musical (Rick Batalla), Best Direction (Kevin Cochran & Rick Batalla) and Best Musical Production in an intimate theater; LA Weekly Nominations for Best Musical Production and Best Musical Direction and OC Weekly Nominations for Best Musical Production.

Blake…da Musical! is a rock & roll white trash fairy tale that reveals what really happened that fateful night between Robert Blake, Bonnie Lee Bakley, and Fred the Cockatoo -- that's right, Blake's feathered friend from Baretta is back in the spotlight!

As fair warning, the show is out there (let’s just say it’s not meant for children or the faint of heart -- after all, the hysterical musical numbers include “Mail Order Porn,” “White Trash Destiny” and “You Gotta Learn to Duck”).

The show is written by Rick Batalla and Henry Phillips. Rick (who also plays Blake) co-wrote and produced the long running hit "Butt Pirates of the Caribbean" where he also played Captain Diego/Ami for an extended run of almost 3 years. He was a co-founder of Troubadour Theater Company where he appeared in many shows including "Spamlet," "Shrew," "12th Dog Night" and "Romeo Hall & Juliet Oates." Rick was a series regular on the CBS sitcom "Payne" and TBS's "Dinner and a Movie" as well as appearing on "8 Simple Rules," "Brooklyn South," and "The John Larroquette Show."

Henry Phillips has been seen performing his hilariously twisted songs and stories on Comedy Central (where his 30 minute solo special premiered last July), ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and NBC’s ‘Late Friday.’ His nationally released CDs, fusing mellow folk-rock ballads with taboo-smashing lyrics, have earned him mention in Billboard magazine’s ‘Critic’s Choice,’ as well as acclaim from the king of novelty music himself, Dr. Demento, who referred to Phillips as “The funniest young singer-songwriter to come our way in quite a while.”

Directed by Rick Batalla and Grove Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Cochran.
