Advanced Scene Study
Tuesdays, 7:00-10:00 pm
The perfect format to fine-tune existing skills and experiment with new techniques. Work will be individually tailored for each participant to maximize growth. If desired, we will also work on monologue and cold reading skills to give your auditions new power. Everyone will have the chance to work every week.
Acting Shakespeare
Tuesdays, 2:00-5:00 pm
A detail oriented class that will focus on letting the meter and the language help you discover the character and clarify the intent. Work will include comedy and tragedy, prose and verse as you develop a powerful, natural sounding delivery that banishes “Shakespeare Voice” forever.
All classes are held at GTC Burbank; 1111-b West Olive Avenue, Burbank 91506 (halfway between downtown Burbank and the NBC studios).
Classes meet four times each month and cost $150/month. Classes are ongoing with rolling enrollment so you can join at any time (space permitting). Interested in the class but the time doesn't work for you? Call and let us know--other times may be possible.
About Kevin Cochran
A graduate of Yale University as a Scholar of the House in Theater, Design, and Circus Arts; Kevin has worked across the country as a director, teacher, and artistic director. His work as a director has been hailed on both coasts (called "terrifyingly good" by the New York Times and "masterful" by the Los Angeles Times). Since 1994, Kevin has served as Artistic Director of Grove Theater Center, including ten seasons in GTC's Garden Grove theaters, five seasons of GTC's Theater on the Green in Fullerton and four seasons at GTC Burbank. As a teacher, he has served on the faculty of New Haven's Educational Center for the Arts and Creative Arts Workshop and has taught numerous workshops and seminars at many institutions including Yale, Fordham, and Columbia Universities.
